Saying porn is without risk/effect is like saying Sex Work is without risk/effect.

most slaves on this planet are not sex slaves. talking about human trafficking as sex slavery is a sensationalist way to draw outrage, fend criticism or calls for facts and too many human trafficking organizations are moving money into religious directed programs. religions that seek to spread the word of Jesus or some other mythological creature along with those faiths’ elevated male + oppressed female cultural models and messages.

if you want to end slavery, end all slavery. and if you really want to end slavery, stop talking about sex slavery instead of all slavery. end the conditions that create, foster and profit from slavery - like the continued economic system that buries nations in debt, poverty, warfare, corruption and disease for the profit of a few countries (one of which, you probably live in). if you care about slavery, pay $10 more for your touchscreen / laptop / pda so that the people who live on the land that gets strip-mined still have a home, school, hospital and government of & for the people.

I’ve got to disagree with you there. The porn industry, in its current state, does fuel sexism. It exists almost entirely for male enjoyment. Titles like “ebony slut dominated in every hole” don’t exactly empower women.

^ this. Straight porn is aimed at pleasing men. Gay porn is aimed at men. Lesbian porn is aimed at men. Solo porn is aimed at men.

Porn is a product of sexism, and in the state the industry is in (not the concept of watching people fuck) it is furthering misogyny.

since you have only your distastes, I’ll take that as an absence of any proof of causality. that, and you have no proof. just a list of things you don’t like. for example, I can prove the boiling temperature of water or the freezing temperature. I can prove the distance between the earth and the moon. you could prove these things as well.

asserting is not proof. claiming “common sense” is not proof. it’s OK not to like porn or sexists. but you have zero proof that porn causes sexism. you might be able to prove that sexists create some porn. sexists are also dentists, insurance salespersons, carpenters and accountants. things made by sexists are things made by sexists but they are not the source of sexists.
